Meet Our Dedicated Team of Specialists

Dr. Lawrence S. Weiss, M.D.

Dr. Lawrence S. Weiss received his MD degree at Tulane University Medical School.

Dr. Lawrence Weiss was born in Fukuoka, Japan and raised in Huntington, New York. His studies brought him south where he attended Tulane University in New Orleans starting in 1979. There, he completed his undergraduate schooling, medical schooling, and General Surgery and ENT Residency. Luckily, New Orleans also provided him the opportunity to meet and marry Melissa as well as the bonus of their first child, Hannah, their Mardi Gras baby After finishing his residency, Dr. Weiss served as the Director for the ENT Division at the Lakeview Medical Center in Suffolk, Virginia. While in Virginia, he and Melissa welcomed Isabella into their family. They settled into their forever home in Marietta, Georgia in 1998 and completed their family with the addition of their son, Zachary, in 2004.

Atlanta has allowed Dr. Weiss’ love for family, friends, dogs, sports, music, and volunteering to thrive. When not caring for ENT patients, Dr. Weiss enjoys walking his two golden retrievers, Leo and Zoe, in the Chattahoochee Forest and playing his Bass Guitar with anyone who’ll have him. He is an avid Braves fan and enjoys attending games at Truist Park, as well as Classic Rock concerts and comedy shows at Atlanta’s many venues. Having played Varsity tennis while at Tulane University, Dr. Weiss can also be found playing pickleball (ALTA, unfortunately, is now out of the picture following two hip replacements and Achilles Tendon repair.)

As a son of a physician and a nurse, pursuing medicine seemed the natural choice for Dr. Weiss. He continues to find fulfillment and purpose by caring for children and adults, both medically and surgically. When asked what Dr. Weiss loves most about his profession, he answered, “When patients leave the office with a smile, feeling confident their ENT issues are in good hands and that I’ve got their back.”

Dr. Emma West, M.D.

Dr. Emma West graduated summa cum laude from Georgia Tech with a degree in Biology.

She went on to obtain her medical degree from Mercer University during which she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Beta Kappa Honors Societies. She completed residency in Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Dr. West is a Woodstock, GA native who is thrilled with the opportunity to return to her community. She comprehensively treats conditions of the ear, nose, and throat in patients of all ages. She is particularly interested in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, sinonasal disease, and pediatrics. Dr. West is proud to serve her community and to improve her patients’ well-being and overall quality of life. Outside of work Dr. West enjoys spending time with her husband Brian and goldendoodle Lily, reading, trying new restaurants, and traveling the U.S. and internationally.

Dr. Jiovanne Hughart, AuD

Dr. Jiovanne Hughart received her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Florida.

With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Hughart’s areas of special interest include vestibular diagnostics, hearing aid recommendations & fitting, and practice management. She conducts workshops throughout the US & Canada teaching cerumen management & foreign body removal. Dr. Hughart is an adjunct professor at Auburn University, and recipient of numerous awards, most recently the prestigious Leo Doeffler Award for Lifetime Clinical Practice. Married with 2 children, Dr. Hughart enjoys spending time with her family, playing the violin and exercising.

Caroline Burrows, PA-C

Caroline received her Master of Medical Science (MMSc) at Mercer University.

Born and raised in Cobb County, Caroline is right at home in our East Cobb practice. Caroline attended the University of Georgia where she obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Psychology. If you think you recognize Caroline, you may be right! Caroline earned her prerequisite patient care hours as Dr. Weiss’ medical assistant prior to gaining acceptance into Mercer University’s Physician Assistant Program. In 2019, Caroline married her husband, Brad, and the two celebrated the birth of their daughter in 2022. When she is not calling the Dawgs or cheering on the Braves, she can be found kayaking, running or hiking in the many local parks the area has to offer. Caroline is thrilled to continue serving the East Cobb community she so loves.

Lauren Voltz

Front Office Administrator

Lauren’s career with Dr. Weiss started in 2007, and by 2014, she had advanced to the role of office manager. In this position, she has been responsible for handling a range of administrative duties within the practice, ensuring smooth operations and efficient management of the office. In her role as office manager, Lauren Voltz is dedicated to fostering a cohesive team environment with the goal of exceeding patient expectations. She believes that a satisfied and motivated staff contributes directly to a positive patient experience, reflecting her commitment to both team morale and patient care.

Originally from California, Lauren now considers Georgia her home. She has a deep love for animals and has rescued three cats. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors, whether it’s relaxing at the beach, spending time by the lake, or capturing stunning sunrise and sunset photos.

Mary Ann Reid

Front Office Administrator

Mary Ann is the Front Office Administrator in our Marietta and Woodstock Office with 20+ years of experience in the field. She has been with our practice for 9 years now and provides exceptional customer service while handling multiple tasks such as greeting patients, answering and forwarding phone calls, taking messages, appointment scheduling, check-in/check-out, and providing general assistance.. Her passion is to help our patients. Outside of work Mary Ann loves dancing, music, football (all the home teams) and fishing. Her personal passion is dancing which is why she established a dance group of her own in 2014!

Joanna Garzon

Certified Medical Assistant / Master Esthetician

Joanna has been a Medical Assistant for over 15 years and is dedicated to taking care of our patients by assisting with phone call triage, sleep tests & oral appliance fittings, prescription refills, scheduling radiology testing and much more. She recently graduated as a Licensed Medical Esthetician, and now offers esthetic services here at Skin 360. She is very passionate about skin health and loves to help others achieve this by educating them on skin care procedures and skin care products that suit them best. Outside of work, Joanna is a wife and mother to an amazing young boy. She also has two fur babies that she loves to go on hikes with. She enjoys crime solving podcasts and reading science-based skin health books.

Maria D’Urbano

Certified Medical Assistant

Maria has been in the medical field for over 15 years and has been with our office for 1 ½ years. As our medical assistant, she is responsible for the clinic needs of our patients. She got into nursing because, when growing up, her father was always in and out of the hospital. When she saw how all the nurses were so kind, gentle, and so caring, it led her to pursue a career in nursing. Maria has worked in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and doctors’ offices. Outside of work, she is a wife, mother to two sons and a grandmother to 3 grandsons who are the light of her life. She has one fur baby/land hippo who loves to go on walks, hikes, and road trips. She also enjoys reading, watching horror and history movies.

Catrina Holt

Medical Assistant

Catrina Holt is a dedicated and compassionate ENT Medical Assistant with 4 years of experience assisting ENT physicians. She is our newest team member and ready to utilize her skill set for our patients. She has 8 years of experience as a medical assistant providing patient care, administrative tasks, and procedure support, all which have allowed her to become a valued member of our team. In her free time, Catrina enjoys spending time with my family, traveling, baking, and watching television.

Sarah Beveridge

Front Desk / Surgery Coordinator

Sarah Beveridge works as our Front Desk Receptionist and recently became our new Surgery Coordinator. She has been with our practice for a year and a half now and is looking forward to helping surgery patients throughout the scheduling process. Sarah schedules appointments, check patients in and out of the office, and loves helping people. As a surgery coordinator, she works diligently to verify surgery benefits, prior authorizations, and keeping our patients up to date throughout the process. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with my friends and family, watching sports, going to concerts, and making people laugh.

Laura Vardanian

Laura has been with us since 2021. Although she is part-time, she wears many hats! She assists our audiologist with hearing aid patients, supports our Skin 360 aesthetics, and helps run our wellness and weight loss program. Currently enrolled at Kennesaw State University, Laura is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. She is passionate about providing care and ensuring that patients feel nurtured and genuinely cared for while in our office.

Laura lives with her husband, Zach, and jokes that their home is a circus with their five rescued animals: two basset hounds, Linda Lou and Ronnie, and three cats, Edgar, Carol, and a sphynx named Harrison. She loves music of all kinds, and you can always hear something interesting playing in her office.

Shy Paladini

Front Desk

Shy Paladini is the newest member of our team, and she’s excited to kick off her front desk position at the Woodstock office! Shy is dedicated to ensuring that every patient experience is efficient, helpful, and enjoyable from start to finish. She’ll be scheduling appointments, assisting patients with their intake forms at check-in, and bringing smiles along the way. Working in the medical field has always been her dream, and she’s thrilled to help others in this capacity!

Outside of work, Shy loves spending time with her friends, dancing, and staying active whenever she can. She has a passion for drawing, anime, and playing games, which adds a creative touch to her vibrant personality. Whether she’s hitting the dance floor or diving into her favorite games, Shy embraces every moment with enthusiasm!
